For the Third Edition of Starling we are hosting our in person event at The Light Cinema in New Brighton! Starling will be screening 15 films in total (3 films from the fiction, student, documentary, animation , and horror) all chosen by this years programmers. You can find our selected 15 films here!
For the first time ever we will also be presenting an award on the night! The Aviary Audience Award will be awarded to one of the 15 finalist films selected to be screened at our in person event. The winner for this award will be selected by those who attend on the night and presented in front of said audience!

WHAT TIME DOES IT START?
7:00pm til 11:00pm . The venue will be open to the public so feel free to come early and get yourselves comfortable before we start!
ARE THERE ID OR MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENTS TO ENTER THE EVENT?
There is not age requirement, however, we do enforce parental guidance as som films may have adult themes.
WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?
Smart, smart/casual or evening wear is allowed. Please note that informal wear will not be allowed and you may be asked to leave if not dressed appropriately.
DOES THE VENUEW PROVIDE DISABLED ACCESS?
Yes, our screen room is on the ground floor with seating available to those who are disabled. If you or someone you know would need assistance, please contact starlingfilmfest@gmail.com to arrange the correct seating.
WHAT ARE THE TRANSPORTATION/PARKING OPTIONS FOR GETTING TO AND FROM THE EVENT?
Transportation is as follows:
Buses from Liverpool, take the 433 or 432 bus from St Thomas Street, which will then drop you off on Cressingham Street, which is a 10-minute walk to the venue.
Buses from Birkenhead Bus Station on Claughton Road, take the 411, then it'll drop you off on Cressingham Street. Then it is a 10-minute walk to the venue.
Trains from Liverpool. Take the New Brighton line, it will stop at New Brighton, and then it's a 7-minute walk to the venue.
Trains from the Wirral. Take the New Brighton line from Conway Park, which will stop at New Brighton, and then it's a 7-minute walk to the venue.
Parking is available around New Brighton Promenade. Please note that the event happens in a busy area of New Brighton so make sure you arrive with plenty of time to find a parking space and to check beforehand where you can park your car.
WHAT CAN I BRING TO THE EVENT?
We ask you to bring yourself and confirmation of your booking. Outside food and drink won't be allowed in the venue, so have a card ready (please not that The Light is a cashless venue) in case you need something from the snack bar at the venue.
WHAT IS THE REFUND POLICY?
Tickets are on a non-refundable policy for tickets without ticket protection or tickets with ticket protection that don't meet its requirements. Please contact starlingfilmfest@gmail.com if you wish to enquire about a refund.
